Wedding Themes and Style Types – Episode #30

Today we are talking about themes and styles for your wedding. A Style is a design with a distinct appearance. A theme is a dominant idea or motif. We are here to clear up the confusion and lay down some ideas when it comes to your wedding theme and style.

For your theme:

* If there is something you(the couple) connect with, use that as your wedding theme such, Dr. Who, a type of music, goth, western, a certain holiday, gamer, outdoorsy, sporty
* Book themes
* Dia De Los Muertos
* Movies
* School Spirit
* Musicians
* Carnaval
* Travel
* Eco-Friendly
* Seasons
* Local
* Beach
* Northwest

There are so many ways to do themes and these are just a few. Don't be afraid to bring yourself into your wedding. Themed wedding can be such a fun and memorable event for your guests. Also, the pictures will be fantastic.

When it comes to styles there are a few widely known and used ones.

Vintage – representing the high quality of a past time

Modern – of contemporary style

Rustic – countryside, simple

Traditional – having characteristic of the older styles

Transitional – between two styles

Fusion – mixing two elements

Once you've chosen your Style and theme (if you are having one) then you can move into colors. Typically you will have a style then add a theme. But you certainly can have a theme OR a style.
