April has begun and it has brought with it some mild weather and also more wedding flower and foliage choices. There are not many changes for April but we have some traditional and favorite additions to the list.
According to Mayesh Wholesale Florist, US Peonies are now started to bloom. The corals usually pop up first and then pinks. It is still a little early so May would still be a better time to choose them for wedding work. On a good note, US grown peonies should be plentiful and have outstanding quality this year because of the cooler weather and rain. US grown tulips are also abundant and are now in full bloom here in Washington.
Most flowering branches will be through their blooming cycle by the end of the month, therefore, won't be available by mid to late April. Enjoy them in early spring.
While April is a great month for floral choices I know most of you are all waiting on May for the Peonies. This month holds its own with the tulips, which are my favorite, Muscari which isn't available for long, I just love its color and look. Muscari goes well for a modern theme. Don't forget your traditional flowers that are available for most of the year:
These always make wonderful choices for your wedding.
