There are some of you brides out there that we know have social anxiety to some degree. While wedding planning can be a daunting task, YOU CAN DO IT! We are giving you some tools to help you plan the wedding of your dreams without freaking out and running away.
- Think Small
- Small gatherings
- Ask for help – gather your courage it can even be in email form.
- Coordinator
- Day of planner
- A great friend
- Do as much online research as you can before you start calling.
- Use your planner and framily by gathering recommendations
- Confide in you Officiant, even counseling with him/her.
- Ask your Sig Other to do all the speaking and speeches if you can't do it yourself
- Vegas!
- No details to worry about
- Add Pepto to your emergency bag
- Fear of walking and tripping:
- Wear Flats
- Have the one walking you down the aisle hold on to you to ground you.
- Keep the future marriage front and center in your mind, that's the whole purpose of this.
- Put your fears second
- If you trip or stumble your words, guess what, you are human and no one will fault you for it.
- Tell your DJ to focus on dancing and having fun and not on you.
- Seating chart, so that guests aren't seeking you out to find out where they are supposed to sit.
- Come up with a signal to your sig other so that if you feel anxious your sig other can take you aside to help calm you.
- No head or sweetheart table

Tips:
- Don't procrastinate and start early
- Get as much done as possible in your downtime
- Grounding – practice weeks to months before the wedding. Meditation, focus on the present
- As you walk down the aisle feel each footstep to bring you back to the present awareness bringing calm
- Welcome people with your eyes (avoiding eye contact creates tension)
- Don't call it a speech, and don't get hung up on perfection. Just say a few words or sentences.
Timeouts make sure to take some, not just during the wedding but during the planning too.
