Informal, backyard, bbq or picnic, these are all types of casual weddings. Today we are giving you some tips and ideas in order to plan your informal wedding.
Casual dress; your wedding dress can even be something simple, either bought from a shop or made by a designer. Men not in suits.
Cozy setting; 15-20 people. Borrow décor items from friends and family. Or have a DIY party
Cakes; purchase one.
Types of informal weddings:
Backyard:
- Brats and hamburgers, salads: pasta and potato, chips and dip.
- Twinkle lights
- Homemade photo booth, props, phones, #
- Short ceremony and then have a party
Park or Picnic:
- Boxed lunch, either homemade or ordered from a favorite, deli or sandwich shop
- Bring in caterer, bbq
- Lawn games: cornhole, horseshoes, lawn bowling, giant Jenga
- Blankets as seating
Inside Home:
- Very small
- No attendants needed
- Potluck
- Cheese and wine, smoked meats, charcuterie, finger foods
- Candles
Church and cake reception:
- Afternoon wedding,
- No alcohol
- No dinner
- Punch
An informal wedding and reception can feel more like a party than a stuffy ceremony.
