According to Meg Keene's A Practical Wedding, these are the things that matter most in planning your wedding. If nothing else gets planned following these will make for a great wedding and reception.
Location
- Find the place that creates the picture of what you want your wedding to look like
- Pictures! The location will be in every one of them
People
- Invite people you love or really like
- Make your bridal party the best of the best
- They will also make your party great or not
Officiant
- You want to find one that you trust
- Jokes, like them or not
Food
- Food sets the tone of your party
- Make sure it's what you want
Dress
- Find what suits you and looks best on your body
- If you have a “perfect” dress in mind but ends up not looking great, re-visit that “perfect”
Photography
- Find a GOOD one
- Find one that you enjoy their look/style
It's really that simple. For a simple and sweet wedding, these are the thing that matter most. And when it comes down to it, as long as you have the one you love beside you, then the rest really doesn't matter.
