We thought it would be wise to find out what real couples are saying they wished they had known or had done during the wedding planning process and share it all with you. We did some research and found some really good advice.

• Videographer
• Day of Wedding coordinator
• Spent more time with our guests
• Not sweated the details
• Swollen fingers
• RSVPs – rsvp yes and not come, no rsvp and then come
• Sleep is a luxury
• You don't have to entertain your guest, you are there to celebrate with each other
• Had hair and makeup done by a pro
• Start DIY early
• Delegate
• Have backups of everything, music playlists, seating plan
• Getting photos with people you love the most
• Skip the traditions you don't care about
• Eat!
• Hiring a pro photographer
• You're Going to Offend, Disagree with, and Feel Guilty About at Least Someone During This Time
• Being indecisive is a very bad thing
• Splurge on the most important things
• Take it easy with the wedding registry
• Have a plan B
• Passing up on The Dress
• Don't let anyone put the photographer away from the bridal party
• Don't drink too much!
• I wish I had spent less time on WAY above my budget aspirational sites like The Knot (And a lot of Pinterest) and stuck to more realistic websites for my planning tips and ideas
• I wish I had known to cut off vendors if they made even one snide or unsupportive remark
• Guest list! If we haven't hung out in a year, I shouldn't have invited them.
• Make your budget, keep to your budget
• The day of, relax. Get a smoothie with protein because food will be the last thing on your mind
• Don't let others tell you what they want
• Sit down with your fiancé and whoever else might be contributing money and discuss what is most important. Make a list of your top 5 priorities
