The Post Wedding Blues is a Real thing - Episode #62
In this episode, we discuss this thing called “Bridal Blues”. Hopefully, we give you a few tips on how to get through and overcome this phase.
Once the wedding is over, what is life all about?? You've planned, spent countless hours researching and listening to podcasts, and spend all your money on this one day.
Plan for more than just the wedding. What's your new married life going to look like? Are you going to have date night?
Join a group. You are not alone!
Plan a small party. You've spent the last year in planning mode and now it's over.
And if planning another even doesn't sound good to you, Take a Break. Be lazy, don't plan anything for awhile.
Write your thank you notes.
Take on a project! Volunteer at your local pet rescue or nursing home.
Get into setting up your new married home. Even if you've already been living together, you can certainly go through the house, rearrange furniture, clear out cabinets and closets.
Wait a little while before going on a honeymoon. You can do something small like stay close in a nice hotel and then plan an adventure together to happen on your first anniversary.
Talk to your new spouse. And if that isn't enough, contact a counselor.
Plus we talk with past guest host Taylor A. Moss, LMFTA about the wedding blues
Once you get over the blues the nesting sets in. Enjoy it.
While wedding planning, it would be helpful to remember that the wedding is just the beginning and not the end. So when it's over, you'll have a whole life in front of you instead of the ending of the wedding.
